At Maywood Park District, we are committed to providing a variety of programs to the community and surrounding areas. To bring quality programs into a viable and flourishing community is of great importance, and the Maywood Park District along with its Commissioners, Executive Director, IL. State Senator Kimberly A. Lightford, and community volunteers have been working diligently to restore the 8th in Madison building. The 8th in Madison building is a three-story building which once served as a Children's Receiving Home (established in 1926). As of today, the Children's Receiving Home is known as the "809 Madison Building". The plan for the "809 Madison Building" is to serve as the new central office for the Maywood Park District and to include: a weight room, dance studio, music recording studio, conference rooms, a martial arts room, a culinary arts classroom, a fitness/aerobics center, lecture halls, a computer room, and a room for games & activities.
